Hey everyone, Ed Clay here. You might recognize me from the competitive world of MMA, or maybe you're new to my story – welcome either way!
These days, my focus has shifted to a different kind of fight – one on the frontlines of healthcare and notably, through my involvement with Health Quest 365, where we're dedicated to optimizing wellness through natural solutions. It might seem like a surprising turn, right?
Well, let me tell you, the same drive and discipline I honed in the ring fuels my passion for making a real impact now, not just in battling complex medical challenges but also in promoting overall health and vitality.
This whole journey, from throwing punches to advocating for both advanced medical treatments and natural health solutions, has been an incredible learning experience. It's shown me the power of perseverance, the importance of collaboration, and the profound impact of patient care.
I truly believe sharing these experiences can inspire someone out there, whether you're navigating your own health journey or simply looking for a little extra motivation.
As a kid, martial arts were my lifeblood. It wasn't just about physical strength, although that's certainly important. What truly captivated me was the focus, the strategic planning, and the sheer mental and physical resilience this field demands. There's a quote by Lloyd Irvin that resonates deeply: "Hard work always beats talent when talent refuses to work hard." It became my guiding principle, pushing me to train with a relentless focus on improvement.
My foray into the world of MMA started with a simple decision to step into a gym. Fast forward, and I found myself competing at the highest levels, eventually achieving a world ranking as high as number 9. Can you believe it? A kid with a dream, going toe-to-toe with the best. But the victories weren't the only takeaways. Every fight, win or lose, instilled valuable lessons that continue to shape my approach today.
My next chapter involved leading one of the biggest MMA schools in the US. This place buzzed with activity, with people from all walks of life coming together to push their boundaries, not just physically but as individuals as well. It was here that I truly grasped the power of a supportive community and witnessed firsthand how martial arts can empower personal transformation.
See, being a fighter goes beyond the physical act of throwing punches. It's about confronting life's challenges head-on, picking yourself up after setbacks, and constantly striving to be a better version of yourself. As we delve deeper into this story, remember this: we're all fighters in our own right, and every challenge is an opportunity for growth.
After conquering the MMA world, I craved a new challenge. But instead of facing opponents in the ring, I decided to take the fight to the business arena. As you might guess, the skills honed in the octagon – perseverance, strategic thinking, and the power of a strong team – proved invaluable for entrepreneurial success.
My first major venture? Launching one of the biggest MMA schools in the US. This wasn't just a training ground; it became a supportive community where people learned discipline, respect, and the unwavering spirit of a fighter. Witnessing how martial arts could transform lives – physically, mentally, and emotionally – was incredibly rewarding.
Next came Gameness, my brainchild – a clothing brand specializing in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and martial arts apparel. Building a business from scratch was a whole new kind of fight, but I was ready. Gameness grew into a global leader, culminating in a major milestone – the company's acquisition in 2011. This experience solidified the value of hard work, innovation, and the courage to pursue your dreams, no matter how ambitious.
Beyond these ventures, I co-hosted a popular FM sports radio show for eight years and helmed Submission Fighter magazine as Editor-in-Chief. Each platform allowed me to share my passion for MMA with a wider audience, giving a voice to the sport and the dedicated athletes who compete in it.
Through these experiences, I discovered that entrepreneurship transcends mere profit. It's about creating an impact. It's about leveraging the lessons learned on the mat and applying them in the marketplace, building something that inspires and empowers others in their battles, whatever they may be.
My journey took an unexpected turn in 2015 when, alongside partners Scott Nelson and Deddrick Perry, we acquired the Centro Hospitalario Internacional Pacifico in Baja California, Mexico. This marked a significant leap – from the world of martial arts and entrepreneurship to healthcare, specifically the fight against cancer. You might wonder, why such a shift. The answer lies in a personal revelation about the power of healing and a desire to contribute to something far greater than sports or business.
Cancer is a formidable adversary, impacting millions of lives globally. Yet, I saw a gap in how it was managed, especially in the US. I believed there had to be a better way to deliver cutting-edge treatments to those in need, bypassing the delays and limitations often inherent in traditional healthcare systems.
Enter Integrative Translational Oncology – a sophisticated term for a simple idea: bridging the gap between cutting-edge research ("the bench") and its practical application in patient care ("the bedside") as swiftly as possible.
At the core of this approach lies the belief in combining traditional and complementary therapies for the best possible patient outcomes. It's not just about treating the disease but caring for the whole person – mind, body, and spirit. This holistic philosophy resonated deeply with me, mirroring the balance I've always strived for in life and career.
Becoming the President of United Cancer Centers allowed me to utilize my expertise in direct response internet marketing and entrepreneurial experience to raise awareness about integrative cancer treatment options. It's been an incredible opportunity to truly make a difference, offering hope and innovative treatments to those facing the most challenging fights of their lives.
This marked a significant leap – from the world of martial arts and entrepreneurship to healthcare, specifically the fight against cancer and the quest for holistic health. You might wonder, why such a shift.
The answer lies in a personal revelation about the power of healing, a desire to contribute to something far greater than sports or business, and my engagement with Health Quest 365.
Here, we're pioneering in promoting wellness through nature's own resources, echoing my belief in the power of natural and preventative measures alongside modern medical treatments. My mother's recovery was a testament to what's possible when we embrace a holistic approach to health, combining the best of natural wellness with cutting-edge medical solutions.
When we talk about fighting, it's not always in the physical sense. At United Cancer Centers, the battle is against cancer, a challenge that requires not just strength but innovation, compassion, and a relentless pursuit of hope. As President of United Cancer Centers, I’ve been part of a visionary team aiming to redefine cancer care by bridging the gap between traditional and alternative treatments. Our goal? To light the way for those navigating the darkest times of their lives.
United Cancer Centers stands as a beacon of hope for many, offering access to cutting-edge treatments and personalized care plans that consider the whole person, not just the illness. It's about creating a supportive environment where patients and their families can find not just treatment but also hope and empowerment. Our approach is unique, focusing on fast-tracking the latest scientific breakthroughs directly to those who need them most, without the usual delays.
This initiative is deeply personal for me. I’ve seen the impact of cancer on individuals and families, and I know the difference that compassionate, innovative care can make. It's a continuation of my life's work, using every lesson learned from the mat, the market, and beyond to fight for something that truly matters.
Through Health Quest 365, I extend this mission, advocating for wellness and natural health solutions that empower individuals in their health journeys, complementing our efforts at United Cancer Centers. My commitment to spreading the word about organic foods, supplements, and detoxing is driven by the belief that everyone deserves access to the tools that can transform their health, just as it did for my mother.
Over the years, I've been fortunate to achieve milestones that have marked my journey across various fields. Some of these are:
Mixed Martial Arts: Once ranked as high as number 9 in the world, my career as a professional MMA fighter laid the foundation for everything that followed. It taught me about discipline, resilience, and the power of a focused mind.

This venture underscores my belief in the transformative power of holistic health practices, including the importance of organic foods, supplements, and detoxing, inspired by my personal experience in significantly improving my mother's health.
Each accomplishment, accreditation, and award represents a step in my ongoing journey—a testament to the power of perseverance, innovation, and a commitment to making a difference. As I reflect on these milestones, I'm reminded that the greatest achievements are not those that garner the most recognition but those that leave a lasting impact on the lives of others.
In my journey from the competitive rings of Mixed Martial Arts to the pioneering fields of healthcare, one principle has always guided me: the importance of giving back.
This philosophy is beautifully captured by a quote from Qebein, "Give without remembering, receive without ever forgetting." It's a reminder of the balance between generosity and gratitude, a balance I strive to maintain in every aspect of my life.
My approach to giving back is rooted in the belief that success is not measured by the victories we achieve but by the impact we have on others. Whether it's through sharing knowledge, supporting community initiatives, or advocating for groundbreaking healthcare solutions, my goal is to contribute positively to the world around me.
My work with Health Quest 365 reflects this commitment, as we strive to bring the best of nature's healing power to the forefront of wellness, ensuring that every person has access to the care they deserve, be it through cutting-edge cancer treatments or preventive natural health products. The incredible journey of healing my mother has only deepened my resolve to share the benefits of a holistic health approach with the world.
In the realm of healthcare, particularly with United Cancer Centers, giving back means providing hope and innovative treatments to those facing the daunting challenge of cancer. It's about pushing boundaries, challenging the status quo, and ensuring that every person has access to the care they deserve.
Beyond healthcare, I'm passionate about using my platform to support a variety of causes, from promoting martial arts as a tool for personal development to supporting education and research in alternative medicine. Each act of giving back is an opportunity to make a difference, to inspire others, and to leave a legacy of kindness and innovation.
Throughout my journey, I've been fortunate to share my experiences, insights, and the lessons I've learned with a broader audience. Whether it's through detailed blog posts or engaging media appearances, each platform has allowed me to connect with others, share knowledge, and inspire action.

As we come to the end of this tale (for now), I hope you've found a spark of inspiration, a nugget of wisdom, or simply a moment of connection. My journey from the rings of Mixed Martial Arts to the pioneering frontiers of healthcare has been anything but ordinary. Yet, at its core, it's a story about fighting—fighting for dreams, fighting against the odds, and fighting for others.
The fight continues, and it's a path I walk with pride, fueled by the lessons of the past and the hope for the future. Along the way, I've learned that the true measure of a fight isn't always in the victory but in the courage to stand up, the strength to persevere, and the heart to give back.
So, whatever battles you face, remember: every challenge is an opportunity to grow stronger, every setback a chance to come back wiser, and every victory a moment to inspire others. The fight never truly ends; it just changes the battlefield. And in this ongoing fight, I'm grateful for every punch thrown, every lesson learned, and every friend made along the way.
Thank you for taking the time to walk a mile in my shoes. Let's keep the conversation going, keep fighting the good fights, and above all, keep making a difference, one step at a time.
